English Translation

‘Abd al-Ṣamad narrated to us, ‘Umar ibn Ibrāhīm narrated to us, Qatādah narrated to us, from al-Ḥasan, from Samurah, from the Prophet ﷺ, who said: “When Ḥawwā’ (Eve) became pregnant, Iblīs circled around her — and her children had not been surviving — and said: ‘Name him ‘Abd al-Ḥārith, and he will live.’ So they named him ‘Abd al-Ḥārith, and he lived. That was from the inspiration and command of Shayṭān.”
