English Translation

Yūnus ibn Muḥammad narrated to us, he said: Abū Laylā ʿAbd Allāh ibn Maysarah narrated to us, from Mazīdah ibn Jābir who said: My mother said: I was in the mosque of Kūfah during the caliphate of ʿUthmān رضي الله تعالى عنه, and Abū Mūsā al-Ashʿarī was our governor. She said: I heard him saying: Indeed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded the fasting of ʿĀshūrāʾ, so fast it.
