English Translation

Yaḥyā ibn Isḥāq — meaning al-Sālaḥīnī — narrated to us, he said: Ḥammād ibn Salamah informed us, from Abū Sinān who said: I buried a son of mine, and while I was in the grave, Abū Ṭalḥah took me by the hand and pulled me out. He said: Shall I give you glad tidings? I said: Yes. He said: al-Ḍaḥḥāk ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān narrated to me, from Abū Mūsā al-Ashʿarī who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Allah تعالى said: O Angel of Death, you have taken the child of My servant. You have taken the delight of his eye and the fruit of his heart. He said: Yes. He said: What did he say? He said: He praised You and said “Indeed we belong to Allah and to Him we shall return.” He said: Build for him a house in Paradise and name it the House of Praise.’ ʿAlī ibn Isḥāq narrated to us, he said: ʿAbd Allāh — meaning Ibn al-Mubārak — informed us, then he mentioned the same, except that he said: Abū Ṭalḥah al-Khawlānī, and he said: al-Ḍaḥḥāk ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿArzab.
