حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ أَنَّ مَعْقِلَ بْنَ يَسَارٍ اشْتَكَى فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ يَعْنِي يَعُودُهُ فَقَالَ أَمَا إِنِّي سَأُحَدِّثُكَ حَدِيثًا لَمْ أَكُ
نْ حَدَّثْتُكَ بِهِ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوْ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا يَسْتَرْعِي اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى عَبْدًا رَعِيَّةً فَيَمُوتُ يَوْمَ يَمُوتُ وَهُوَ لَهَا غَاشٌّ إِلَّا حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ الْجَنَّةَ
Isnad Chain
English Translation
Ismā‘īl narrated to us, from Yūnus, from al-Ḥasan: Ma‘qil ibn Yasār fell ill, and ‘Abd Allāh ibn Ziyād visited him. He said: ‘I am going to narrate to you a ḥadīth that I had not narrated to you before. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ — or: I narrate to you from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ — say: ‘Allah تبارك وتعالى does not entrust a servant with a flock and he then dies on the day he dies having cheated them, except that Allah has made Paradise forbidden to him.’’
