حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ قَالَ ثَنَا أَبِي قَالَ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جُحَادَةَ عَن عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ب
ْنِ ثَرْوَانَ عَن هُزَيْلِ بْنِ شُرَحْبِيلَ عَن أَبِي مُوسَى قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ السَّاعَةِ فِتَنًا كَقِطَعِ اللَّيْلِ الْمُظْلِمِ يُصْبِحُ الرَّجُلُ فِيهَا مُؤْمِنًا وَيُمْسِي كَافِرًا وَيُمْسِي مُؤْمِنًا وَيُصْبِحُ كَافِرًا الْقَاعِدُ فِيهَا خَيْرٌ مِنْ الْقَائِمِ وَالْقَائِمُ فِيهَا خَيْرٌ مِنْ الْمَاشِي وَالْمَاشِي فِيهَا خَيْرٌ مِنْ السَّاعِي فَاكْسِرُوا قِسِيَّكُمْ وَقَطِّعُوا أَوْتَارَكُمْ وَاضْرِبُوا بِسُيُوفِكُمْ الْحِجَارَةَ فَإِنْ دُخِلَ عَلَى أَحَدِكُمْ بَيْتَهُ فَلْيَكُنْ كَخَيْرِ ابْنَيْ آدَمَ

English Translation
ʿAbd al-Ṣamad narrated to us, he said: my father narrated to us, he said: Muḥammad ibn Juḥādah narrated to us, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Tharwān, from Huzayl ibn Shuraḥbīl, from Abū Mūsā who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Before the Hour there will be tribulations like pieces of the dark night. A man will wake up a believer and go to sleep a disbeliever, and go to sleep a believer and wake up a disbeliever. The one sitting during it is better than the one standing, the one standing is better than the one walking, and the one walking is better than the one rushing. So break your bows, cut your bowstrings, and strike your swords against stones. If someone enters upon one of you in his home, then be like the better of the two sons of Adam.’
