Hadith #129
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُحَارِبِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ أَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَكْتُبَ إِلَى ابْنٍ لَهُ وَكَانَ قَاضِيًا بِسِجِسْتَانَ أَمَّا بَعْدُ فَلَا تَحْكُمَنَّ بَيْنَ اثْنَيْنِ وَأَنْتَ غَضْبَانُ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لَا يَحْكُمْ أَحَدٌ بَيْنَ اثْنَيْنِ وَهُوَ غَضْبَانُ
English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Bakra (may Allah be pleased with him) that he ordered his son to write to another son of his who was a judge in Sijistan: 'As for what follows, never judge between two people while you are angry, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "No one should judge between two people while he is angry."'
