Hadith #329
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُبَارَكُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ حَدَّثَنَا
الْحَسَنُ أَخْبَرَنِي شَيْخٌ مَنْ بَنِي سَلِيطٍ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُكَلِّمُهُ فِي سَبْيٍ أُصِيبَ لَنَا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَإِذَا هُوَ يُحَدِّثُ الْقَوْمَ وَحَلْقَةٌ قَدْ أَطَافَتْ بِهِ فَإِذَا هُوَ قَاعِدٌ عَلَيْهِ إِزَارُ قِطْرٍ لَهُ غَلِيظٌ أَوَّلُ شَيْءٍ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْهُ يَقُولُ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ بِيَدِهِ هَكَذَا وَأَشَارَ الْمُبَارَكُ بِإِصْبَعِهِ السَّبَّابَةِ الْمُسْلِمُ أَخُو الْمُسْلِمِ لَا يَظْلِمُهُ وَلَا يَخْذُلُهُ التَّقْوَى هَاهُنَا التَّقْوَى هَاهُنَا أَيْ فِي الْقَلْبِ

English Translation
It was narrated from a man of Banu Saliyyt that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The Muslim is the brother of the Muslim. He does not oppress him, nor does he abandon him. Taqwa is here' — and he pointed to his chest. 'It is sufficient evil for a man that he humiliate his Muslim brother. Every Muslim's blood, wealth, and honor are sacred to another Muslim.'
