حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَلَمَةَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَمَّارٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ أَتَى عَلَيَّ زَمَانٌ وَأَنَا أَقُولُ أَوْلَادُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ مَعَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَأَوْلَادُ الْمُشْرِكِينَ مَعَ ال

ْمُشْرِكِينَ حَتَّى حَدَّثَنِي فُلَانٌ عَنْ فُلَانٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُئِلَ عَنْهُمْ فَقَالَ اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا كَانُوا عَامِلِينَ قَالَ فَلَقِيتُ الرَّجُلَ فَأَخْبَرَنِي فَأَمْسَكْتُ عَنْ قَوْلِي

English Translation

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas cited a companion who had heard from another companion that he asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the children of polytheists who die before reaching maturity. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Allah knows best what they would have done.'
