Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى يَمِينٍ كَاذِبًا لِيَقْتَطِعَ بِهَا مَالَ رَجُلٍ أَوْ قَالَ أَخِيهِ لَقِيَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَهُوَ عَلَيْهِ غَضْبَانُ وَأُنْزِلَ تَصْدِيقُ ذَلِكَ فِي الْقُرْآنِ { إِنَّ ال
َّذِينَ يَشْتَرُونَ بِعَهْدِ اللَّهِ وَأَيْمَانِهِمْ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا أُولَئِكَ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُمْ فِي الْآخِرَةِ إِلَى عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ } قَالَ فَلَقِيَنِي الْأَشْعَثُ فَقَالَ مَا حَدَّثَكُمْ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ الْيَوْمَ قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ كَذَا وَكَذَا قَالَ فِيَّ أُنْزِلَتْ

English Translation
It was narrated from Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Whoever swears a false oath to seize the property of a Muslim unlawfully will meet Allah on the Day of Resurrection while He is angry with him.' Then Allah revealed: 'Indeed, those who exchange the covenant of Allah and their own oaths for a small price...' to the end of the verse.
