حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ أَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ هِشَامِ
بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ مَرْوَانَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ قَالَ قَالَ لِي زَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ أَلَمْ أَرَكَ اللَّيْلَةَ خَفَّفْتَ الْقِرَاءَةَ فِي سَجْدَتَيْ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ إِنْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيَقْرَأُ فِيهِمَا بِطُولَى الطُّولَيَيْنِ

English Translation
It was narrated that Zayd ibn Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) said to Marwan: 'Did I not see you last night reading briefly in the two rak'ahs of Maghrib? By the One in Whose hand is my soul, the Messenger of Allah ß used to recite long surahs in them — al-A'raf, Yunus, and Hud.'
