Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ قَالَ كُنْتُ أَرَى الرُّؤْيَا أُعْرَى مِنْهَا غَيْرَ أَنِّي لَا أُزَمَّلُ حَتَّى لَقِيتُ أَبَا قَتَادَةَ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ الرُّؤْيَا
مِنْ اللَّهِ وَالْحُلْمُ مِنْ الشَّيْطَانِ فَمَنْ رَأَى رُؤْيَا يَكْرَهُهَا فَلَا يُخْبِرْ بِهَا وَلْيَتْفُلْ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ ثَلَاثًا وَلْيَسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ شَرِّهَا فَإِنَّهَا لَا تَضُرُّهُ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى فَإِنَّهُ لَنْ يَرَى شَيْئًا يَكْرَهُهُ

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'The true dream is from Allah, and the bad dream is from Satan. Whoever sees a dream he dislikes, let him not tell anyone about it, and let him spit to his left three times and seek refuge in Allah from its evil. Then it will not harm him.'
