حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ شَهِدَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى عَلَ
ى مَيِّتٍ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِحَيِّنَا وَمَيِّتِنَا وَشَاهِدِنَا وَغَائِبِنَا وَصَغِيرِنَا وَكَبِيرِنَا وَذَكَرِنَا وَأُنْثَانَا قَالَ و حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بِهَؤُلَاءِ الثَّمَانِ كَلِمَاتٍ وَزَادَ كَلِمَتَيْنِ مَنْ أَحْيَيْتَهُ مِنَّا فَأَحْيِهِ عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ وَمَنْ تَوَفَّيْتَهُ مِنَّا فَتَوَفَّهُ عَلَى الْإِيمَانِ حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِنَحْوِهِ

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he witnessed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performing the funeral prayer and heard him say: 'O Allah, forgive our living and our dead, those present and those absent, our young and our old, our males and our females.' And another narration adds: 'Those among us whom You cause to live, let them live upon Islam, and those among us whom You cause to die, let them die upon faith.'
