حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ عَنْ مَحْمُودِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ قَالَ صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَل
َيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَرَأَ فَثَقُلَتْ عَلَيْهِ الْقِرَاءَةُ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ قَالَ تَقْرَءُونَ قُلْنَا نَعَمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ لَا عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ لَا تَفْعَلُوا إِلَّا بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ فَإِنَّهُ لَا صَلَاةَ إِلَّا بِهَا

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Ubadah ibn al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ led them in prayer and found the recitation heavy upon him. When he finished, he said: 'Are you reciting behind me?' They said: 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' He ﷺ said: 'Do not do so, except with al-Fatihah, for there is no prayer for one who does not recite it.'
