حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ قَالَ خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى ا
للَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُخْبِرَنَا بِلَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ فَتَلَاحَى رَجُلَانِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجْتُ وَأَنَا أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُخْبِرَكُمْ بِلَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ فَتَلَاحَى رَجُلَانِ فَرُفِعَتْ وَعَسَى أَنْ يَكُونَ خَيْرًا لَكُمْ فَالْتَمِسُوهَا فِي التَّاسِعَةِ أَوْ السَّابِعَةِ أَوْ الْخَامِسَةِ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Ubadah ibn al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out intending to inform them about Laylat al-Qadr, but two men were quarreling. He ﷺ said: 'I came out to tell you about Laylat al-Qadr, but two men were quarreling and it was raised. Perhaps that is better for you. Seek it in the ninth, the seventh, or the fifth.'
