English Translation
It was narrated from 'Ubadah ibn al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that he taught some of the People of the Bench to read and write, and one of them gave him a bow as a gift. He asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about accepting it, and he ﷺ said: 'If it pleases you to have a collar of fire put around your neck, then accept it.'
