حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنِي قَيْسُ بْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ أَتَى رَجُلٌ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ إِنِّي أَتَأَخَّرُ عَنْ صَلَ
اةِ الْغَدَاةِ مِنْ أَجْلِ فُلَانٍ مِمَّا يُطِيلُ بِنَا فَمَا رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَشَدَّ غَضَبًا فِي مَوْعِظَةٍ مِنْهُ يَوْمَئِذٍ فَقَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّ مِنْكُمْ لَمُنَفِّرِينَ فَأَيُّكُمْ مَا صَلَّى بِالنَّاسِ فَلْيَتَجَوَّزْ فَإِنَّ فِيهِمْ الضَّعِيفَ وَالْكَبِيرَ وَذَا الْحَاجَةِ

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man complained about the Fajr prayer, saying that a certain person prolonged it on them. He said: 'I never saw the Prophet ﷺ angrier in a sermon than he was that day. He said: O people, among you are those who drive people away. Whoever leads the people in prayer, let him make it brief, for among them are the weak, the elderly, and those with needs.'
