حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ مَنْجُوفٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلِيًّا إِلَى خَالِدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ لِيَقْسِمَ الْخُمُسَ وَقَالَ رَوْحٌ مَرَّةً لِيَقْبِضَ الْخُمُسَ قَالَ فَأَصْبَحَ عَلِيٌّ وَرَأْسُهُ يَ
قْطُرُ قَالَ فَقَالَ خَالِدٌ لِبُرَيْدَةَ أَلَا تَرَى إِلَى مَا يَصْنَعُ هَذَا لِمَا صَنَعَ عَلِيٌّ قَالَ وَكُنْتُ أُبْغِضُ عَلِيًّا قَالَ فَقَالَ يَا بُرَيْدَةُ أَتُبْغِضُ عَلِيًّا قَالَ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَلَا تُبْغِضْهُ قَالَ رَوْحٌ مَرَّةً فَأَحِبَّهُ فَإِنَّ لَهُ فِي الْخُمُسِ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ

English Translation
It was narrated from Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent 'Ali to Khalid ibn al-Walid to distribute the one-fifth share. In the morning 'Ali appeared with his head dripping wet. Khalid said to Buraidah: 'Do you not see what this man has done?' — referring to what 'Ali had done. And Buraidah had disliked 'Ali. He said: 'He then said: "O Buraidah, do you dislike 'Ali?"' He said: 'I said: "Yes."' He said: '"Then do not dislike him" — Rawh narrated once: "love him" — for he has more than that from the one-fifth.'
