Hadith #169
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ أَشْعَثَ عَنْ عَمَّتِهِ عَنْ عَمِّهَا قَالَ إِنِّي لَبِسُوقِ ذِي الْمَجَازِ ع
َلَيَّ بُرْدَةٌ لِي مَلْحَاءُ أَسْحَبُهَا قَالَ فَطَعَنَنِي رَجُلٌ بِمِخْصَرَةٍ فَقَالَ ارْفَعْ إِزَارَكَ فَإِنَّهُ أَبْقَى وَأَنْقَى فَنَظَرْتُ فَإِذَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَنَظَرْتُ فَإِذَا إِزَارُهُ إِلَى أَنْصَافِ سَاقَيْهِ

English Translation
It was narrated from the uncle of Ashath's aunt that he said: 'I was at the market of Dhu al-Majaz wearing a striped garment, dragging it. A man prodded me with a stick and said: Raise your garment, for it lasts longer and is cleaner. I looked, and it was the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I looked and saw that his garment reached to the middle of his shins.'
