Hadith #204
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا
أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَكَلَتْنَا الضَّبُعُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غَيْرُ الضَّبُعِ عِنْدِي أَخْوَفُ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنْ الضَّبُعِ إِنَّ الدُّنْيَا سَتُصَبُّ عَلَيْكُمْ صَبًّا فَيَا لَيْتَ أُمَّتِي لَا تَلْبَسُ الذَّهَبَ

English Translation
It was narrated from a man that a bedouin came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, the hyena has been preying on us.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'There is something other than the hyena that concerns me more for you. The world will be poured out upon you, and I wish my nation would not wear gold.'
