حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ بَهْدَلَةَ عَنْ زِرِّ بْنِ حُبَيْشٍ قَالَ تَسَحَّرْتُ ثُمَّ انْطَلَقْتُ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ فَمَرَرْتُ بِمَنْزِلِ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ الْيَمَانِ فَدَخَلْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَأَمَرَ بِلَقْحَةٍ فَحُلِبَتْ وَبِقِدْرٍ فَسُخِّنَتْ ثُمَّ قَالَ ادْنُ فَكُلْ فَقُلْتُ إِنِّي أُرِيدُ الصَّوْمَ فَقَالَ وَأَنَا أُرِيدُ الصَّوْمَ فَأَكَلْنَا وَشَرِبْنَا ثُمَّ أَتَيْنَا الْمَسْجِدَ فَأُقِيمَتْ ا
لصَّلَاةُ ثُمَّ قَالَ حُذَيْفَةُ هَكَذَا فَعَلَ بِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قُلْتُ أَبَعْدَ الصُّبْحِ قَالَ نَعَمْ هُوَ الصُّبْحُ غَيْرَ أَنْ لَمْ تَطْلُعْ الشَّمْسُ قَالَ وَبَيْنَ بَيْتِ حُذَيْفَةَ وَبَيْنَ الْمَسْجِدِ كَمَا بَيْنَ مَسْجِدِ ثَابِتٍ وَبُسْتَانِ حَوْطٍ وَقَدْ قَالَ حَمَّادٌ أَيْضًا وَقَالَ حُذَيْفَةُ هَكَذَا صَنَعْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَصَنَعَ بِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

English Translation
It was narrated from Zirr ibn Hubaysh that he said: 'I had the pre-dawn meal then set off to the mosque. I passed by the home of Hudhayfa ibn al-Yaman and entered upon him. He ordered a milch camel to be milked and a pot to be heated, then said: "Come and eat." I said: "I intend to fast." He said: "And I intend to fast," so we ate and drank. Then we went to the mosque and the prayer was established. Hudhayfa then said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did the same with me." I asked: "After the Fajr prayer?" He said: "Yes — it was the Fajr prayer."'
