حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْجَابِرُ قَالَ صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ عِيسَى مَوْلًى لِحُذَيْفَةَ بِالْمَدَائِنِ عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَكَبَّرَ خَمْسًا ثُمَّ الْتَفَتَ إِلَيْنَا فَقَالَ مَا
وَهِمْتُ وَلَا نَسِيتُ وَلَكِنْ كَبَّرْتُ كَمَا كَبَّرَ مَوْلَايَ وَوَلِيُّ نِعْمَتِي حُذَيْفَةُ بْنُ الْيَمَانِ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ وَكَبَّرَ خَمْسًا ثُمَّ الْتَفَتَ إِلَيْنَا فَقَالَ مَا نَسِيتُ وَلَا وَهِمْتُ وَلَكِنْ كَبَّرْتُ كَمَا كَبَّرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَكَبَّرَ خَمْسًا

English Translation
It was narrated from Yahya ibn Abdillah al-Jabir that he said: 'I prayed behind Isa, a freed slave of Hudhayfa, over a funeral in al-Mada'in, and he said five takbirs. He then turned to us and said: "I did not make a mistake or forget. Rather I said the takbirs as my master Hudhayfa ibn al-Yaman said them. He prayed over a funeral and said five takbirs, then turned to the people and said: "I did not forget or make a mistake. Rather I said the takbirs as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said them — he prayed over a funeral and said five takbirs.""'
