حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَخْبَرَنَا عَطَاءُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ عَنْ عَرْفَجَةَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَاب

ِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ ذَكَرَ رَمَضَانَ فَقَالَ تُفْتَحُ فِيهِ أَبْوَابُ الْجَنَّةِ وَتُغْلَقُ فِيهِ أَبْوَابُ النَّارِ وَتُصَفَّدُ فِيهِ الشَّيَاطِينُ وَيُنَادِي فِيهِ مُنَادٍ كُلَّ لَيْلَةٍ يَا بَاغِيَ الْخَيْرِ هَلُمَّ وَيَا بَاغِيَ الشَّرِّ أَقْصِرْ حَتَّى يَنْقَضِيَ رَمَضَانُ

English Translation

It was narrated from Arfaja from a man among the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ that he mentioned Ramadan and said: 'In it the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, the devils are chained, and a caller calls out every night: O seeker of good, come forward! O seeker of evil, desist! — until Ramadan comes to an end.'
