حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَنْبَأَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عَام

ِرِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ مِنْ أَكْبَرِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فِي الْمُسْلِمِينَ جُرْمًا رَجُلًا سَأَلَ عَنْ شَيْءٍ وَنَقَّرَ عَنْهُ حَتَّى أُنْزِلَ فِي ذَلِكَ الشَّيْءِ تَحْرِيمٌ مِنْ أَجْلِ مَسْأَلَتِهِ

English Translation

It was narrated from Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas (رضي الله عنه) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The greatest of Muslims in sin against the Muslims is a man who asks about something that was not forbidden, and it becomes forbidden because of his question.'
