قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ حِمْدَانَ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ وَجَدْتُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي بِخَطِّ يَدِهِ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّهُ
كَانَ يُذَاكِرُ عُمَرَ شَأْنَ الصَّلَاةِ فَانْتَهَى إِلَيْهِمْ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ فَقَالَ أَلَا أُحَدِّثُكُمْ بِحَدِيثٍ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالُوا بَلَى قَالَ فَأَشْهَدُ أَنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ صَلَّى صَلَاةً يَشُكُّ فِي النُّقْصَانِ فَلْيُصَلِّ حَتَّى يَشُكَّ فِي الزِّيَادَةِ آخِرُ أَحَادِيثِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ

English Translation
Abu Bakr Ahmad ibn Ja'far ibn Hamdan ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that abu 'Abd al-Rahman said: I found this hadith in my father's book in his handwriting. Muhammad ibn Yazid narrated to us, from Isma'il ibn Muslim, from al-Zuhri, from 'Ubaydullah ibn 'Abdullah, from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما), that he was discussing the matter of prayer with 'Umar (رضي الله عنه), when 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Awf (رضي الله عنه) came to them and said: 'Shall I not narrate to you a hadith I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?' They said: 'Yes.' He said: 'I bear witness that I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Whoever performs a prayer and doubts that he has fallen short, let him continue praying until he doubts that he has added extra.' This is the last hadith of 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Awf (رضي الله عنه).
