Yazid informed us, Mahdi ibn Maymun informed us, from Muhammad ibn Abi Ya'qub, from al-Hasan ibn Sa'd, from 'Abdullah ibn Ja'far (رضي الله عنهما). [Second chain:] Bahz and 'Affan said: Mahdi narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Abi Ya'qub narrated to us, from al-Hasan ibn Sa'd, the freed slave of al-Hasan ibn 'Ali, from 'Abdullah ibn Ja'far, who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ let me ride behind him one day and confided to me a secret that I will not tell anyone ever. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ preferred to screen himself behind a wall or a cluster of palm trees when relieving himself. He entered a garden belonging to a man from the Ansar, and there was a camel that came to him and moaned, and its eyes shed tears. Bahz and 'Affan said: When it saw the Prophet ﷺ, it whimpered and its eyes shed tears. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stroked its hump and the base of its ears, and it calmed down. He said: 'Who is the owner of this camel?' A young man from the Ansar came and said: 'It is mine, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'Will you not fear Allah regarding this beast that Allah has placed in your possession? It has complained to me that you starve it and overwork it.'
