'Affan narrated to us, Abu 'Awanah narrated to us, 'Abd al-Malik ibn 'Umayr narrated to us, from 'Abdullah ibn al-Harith ibn Nawfal, from al-'Abbas ibn 'Abd al-Muttalib (رضي الله عنه), who said: I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, have you benefited Abu Talib with anything, for he used to protect you and become angry for your sake?' He said: 'Yes, he is in a shallow pool of Fire. Were it not for that, he would be in the lowest depth of the Fire.'
