Ibn Numayr narrated from al-'Ala' ibn Salih, al-Minhal ibn 'Amr narrated to us, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr: A man came to Ibn 'Abbas and said: '(The Quran was) revealed upon the Prophet ﷺ — ten (surahs) in Makkah and ten in Madinah.' He said: 'Who says that? Indeed, there were revealed upon him in Makkah ten and sixty-five (surahs) or more.'
