English Translation
Ibn Numayr narrated from Fudayl — meaning Ibn Ghazwan — from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said during the Farewell Hajj: 'O people, what day is this?' They said: 'A sacred day.' He said: 'What city is this?' They said: 'A sacred city.' He said: 'What month is this?' They said: 'A sacred month.' He said: 'Indeed, your wealth, your blood, and your honor are as sacred to you as the sanctity of this day of yours, in this city of yours, in this month of yours.' Then he repeated it several times, then raised his head toward the sky and said: 'O Allah, have I conveyed?' — several times. Ibn 'Abbas said: 'By Allah, that was his bequest to his Lord (عز وجل).' Then he said: 'Let those present convey to those absent. Do not revert to disbelief after me, striking the necks of one another.'
