حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ شَيْخٌ مِنْ النَّخَعِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ يُحَدِّثُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قَامَ فِينَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمَوْعِظَةٍ فَقَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّكُمْ مَحْشُورُونَ إِلَى اللَّهِ حُفَاةً عُرَاةً غُرْلًا { كَمَا بَدَأْنَا أَوَّلَ خَلْقٍ نُعِيدُهُ وَعْدًا عَلَيْنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا فَاعِلِينَ } أَلَا وَإِنَّ أَوَّلَ الْخَلْقِ يُكْسَى يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِبْرَاهِيمُ وَإِنَّهُ سَيُجَاءُ بِأُنَاسٍ مِنْ أُمَّتِي فَيُؤْخَذُ بِهِمْ ذَاتَ الشِّمَالِ فَلَأَقُولَنَّ أَصْحَابِي فَلَيُقَالَنَّ لِي إِنَّكَ لَا تَدْرِي مَا أَحْدَثُوا بَعْدَكَ فَلَأَقُولَنَّ كَمَا قَالَ الْعَبْدُ الصَّالِحُ { وَكُنْتُ عَلَيْهِمْ شَهِ
يدًا مَا دُمْتُ فِيهِمْ فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّيْتَنِي كُنْتَ أَنْتَ الرَّقِيبَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَأَنْتَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ إِلَى فَإِنَّهُمْ عِبَادُكَ وَإِنْ تَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ فَإِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ } فَيُقَالُ إِنَّ هَؤُلَاءِ لَمْ يَزَالُوا مُرْتَدِّينَ عَلَى أَعْقَابِهِمْ مُنْذُ فَارَقْتَهُمْ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ أَمَلَّهُ عَلَى سُفْيَانَ فَأَمَلَّهُ عَلَيَّ سُفْيَانُ مَكَانَهُ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قَامَ فِينَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمَوْعِظَةٍ فَذَكَرَهُ

English Translation
'Affan narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, al-Mughirah ibn al-Nu'man — a shaykh from al-Nakha' — narrated to us, saying: I heard Sa'id ibn Jubayr narrating, saying: I heard Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) say: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood among us delivering an admonition and said: "O people, you will be gathered before Allah barefoot, naked, and uncircumcised. {As We began the first creation, We will repeat it. That is a promise binding upon Us. Indeed, We will do it} [al-Anbiya' 21:104]. Verily, the first of creation to be clothed on the Day of Resurrection will be Ibrahim (عليه السلام). And some people from my ummah will be brought and taken to the left side. I will say: 'My companions!' But it will be said to me: 'You do not know what they innovated after you.' So I will say as the righteous servant said: {And I was a witness over them as long as I was among them; but when You took me up, You were the Observer over them, and You are, over all things, Witness. If You should punish them, indeed they are Your servants; but if You forgive them, indeed it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise} [al-Ma'idah 5:117-118]. It will be said: 'These people never ceased turning on their heels since you left them.'" Shu'bah said: He dictated it to Sufyan, and Sufyan dictated it to me in that place. Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from al-Mughirah ibn al-Nu'man, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood among us delivering an admonition — and he mentioned it.
