حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا أَب

ِي عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي دَاوُدُ بْنُ الْحُصَيْنِ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَدَّ ابْنَتَهُ زَيْنَبَ عَلَى أَبِي الْعَاصِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ وَكَانَ إِسْلَامُهَا قَبْلَ إِسْلَامِهِ بِسِتِّ سِنِينَ عَلَى النِّكَاحِ الْأَوَّلِ وَلَمْ يُحْدِثْ شَهَادَةً وَلَا صَدَاقًا

English Translation

Ya'qub narrated to us, my father narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq, Dawud ibn al-Husayn narrated to me, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما): the Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned his daughter Zaynab to Abu al-'As ibn al-Rabi' based on the original marriage contract after six years, without a new contract.
