Hadith #267
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلٌ قَالَ أَبُو عَوَانَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بِشْرٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ فِي قَوْلِ الْجِنّ
ِ { وَأَنَّهُ لَمَّا قَامَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَدْعُوهُ كَادُوا يَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِ لِبَدًا } قَالَ لَمَّا رَأَوْهُ يُصَلِّي بِأَصْحَابِهِ وَيُصَلُّونَ بِصَلَاتِهِ وَيَرْكَعُونَ بِرُكُوعِهِ وَيَسْجُدُونَ بِسُجُودِهِ تَعَجَّبُوا مِنْ طَوَاعِيَةِ أَصْحَابِهِ لَهُ فَلَمَّا رَجَعُوا إِلَى قَوْمِهِمْ قَالُوا إِنَّهُ لَمَّا قَامَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدْعُوهُ كَادُوا يَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِ لِبَدًا

English Translation
Mu'ammal narrated to us, he said Abu 'Awanah narrated to us, Abu Bishr narrated to us, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) regarding the saying of the jinn: 'And when the servant of Allah stood up supplicating Him, they almost became about him a compacted mass' [Al-Jinn 72:19] — he said: When the jinn saw the Prophet ﷺ praying and his companions praying with him, prostrating when he prostrated, they were amazed at the obedience of his companions to him, and they said to their people: 'When the servant of Allah stood up supplicating Him, they almost became about him a compacted mass.'
