حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنِ الْجَعْدِ أَبِ

ي عُثْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِي رَجَاءٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ رَأَى مِنْ أَمِيرِهِ شَيْئًا يَكْرَهُهُ فَلْيَصْبِرْ فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ خَالَفَ الْجَمَاعَةَ شِبْرًا فَمَاتَ فَمِيتَتُهُ جَاهِلِيَّةٌ

English Translation

Hasan ibn al-Rabi' narrated to us, Hammad ibn Zayd narrated to us, from al-Ja'd Abu 'Uthman, from Abu Raja', from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever sees something he dislikes in his ruler, let him be patient, for whoever separates from the jama'ah (community) by a hand span and dies, his death is a death of jahiliyyah (pre-Islamic ignorance).'
