English Translation
'Abdullah ibn Bakr and Muhammad ibn Ja'far both said: Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Jabir ibn Zayd, from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was given a roasted lizard (dabb). He brought his hand close to it to eat, but was told: 'It is a lizard.' He pulled his hand away. Khalid ibn al-Walid (رضي الله عنه) said: 'Is it haram, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'No, but it is not found in the land of my people, and I find myself disliking it.' Khalid said: 'So I ate it while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was watching.'
