حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي الْحَكَمُ بْنُ عُتَيْبَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ الصَّعْبَ بْنَ جَثَّامَةَ اللَّيْثِيَّ أَهْدَى
إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ بِقُدَيْدٍ عَجُزَ حِمَارٍ فَرَدَّهُ وَهُوَ يَقْطُرُ دَمًا حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَدَّهُ

English Translation
'Affan narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, he said al-Hakam ibn 'Utaybah informed me, he said I heard Sa'id ibn Jubayr narrating from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) that al-Sa'b ibn Jaththamah al-Laythi gave the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a wild donkey as a gift. He returned it, and when he saw (the expression on) his face, he said: 'We only returned it because we are in ihram.'
