English Translation

'Affan narrated to us, Hammam narrated to us, from Qatadah, from 'Ikrimah who said: I prayed behind a shaykh in Makkah, and he said twenty-two takbirs during the Dhuhr prayer. I went to Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) and said: 'He is a fool — or words to that effect.' He said: 'May your mother lose you! That is the sunnah of Abu al-Qasim ﷺ.'
