Hadith #521
فَأُنْزِلَتْ { لَيْسَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ جُنَاحٌ فِيمَا طَعِمُوا } قَالَ وَلَمَّا حُوِّلَتْ الْقِبْلَةُ قَالَ أُنَاسٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَصْحَابُنَا الَّذِينَ مَاتُوا وَهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ إِلَى بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ فَأُنْزِلَتْ { وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيُضِيعَ إِيمَانَكُمْ }

English Translation
Shadhan narrated to us, Isra'il informed us, from Simak, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) who said: When wine was prohibited, some people said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what about our companions who died while they were still drinking it?' So Allah عز وجل revealed: 'There is no sin upon those who believe and do righteous deeds for what they have eaten [i.e., consumed], so long as they fear Allah and believe and do righteous deeds' [al-Ma'idah 5:93].
