حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ عَنْ جَبَلَةَ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ بَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي بَيْتِ بَع
ْضِ نِسَائِهِ إِذْ وَضَعَ رَأْسَهُ فَنَامَ فَضَحِكَ فِي مَنَامِهِ فَلَمَّا اسْتَيْقَظَ قَالَتْ لَهُ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ نِسَائِهِ لَقَدْ ضَحِكْتَ فِي مَنَامِكَ فَمَا أَضْحَكَكَ قَالَ أَعْجَبُ مِنْ نَاسٍ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَرْكَبُونَ هَذَا الْبَحْرَ هَوْلَ الْعَدُوِّ يُجَاهِدُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَذَكَرَ لَهُمْ خَيْرًا كَثِيرًا

English Translation
Ishaq narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Thabit al-'Abdi narrated to me, from Jabalah ibn 'Atiyyah, from Ishaq ibn 'Abdullah ibn al-Harith, from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) who said: While the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was sitting, a man came to him looking agitated and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I have been afflicted.' He ﷺ said: 'What is it?' He said: 'I had intercourse with my wife during the day in Ramadan.' He ﷺ said: 'Can you free a slave?' He said: 'No.' He ﷺ said: 'Can you fast two consecutive months?' He said: 'No.' He ﷺ said: 'Can you feed sixty poor people?' He said: 'No.' the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Sit.' Then a large basket of dates was brought, and the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Give this in charity.' He said: 'There is no one between its two tracts of lava poorer than us.' So the Prophet ﷺ laughed until his pre-molar teeth showed, and said: 'Take it and feed your family.'
