Abu Qatada al-Ansari (RA), whose full name was al-Harith ibn Rib'i al-Ansari al-Khazraji, was from the Ansar of Medina. He was one of the most active participants in military expeditions, joining the Prophet ﷺ in battles and raids. He was known for his bravery in combat and was reportedly called the 'Horseman of Allah' (Faris Allah) for his cavalry skill. He participated in major battles including Uhud, Khandaq, Khaybar, and Hunayn. He narrated approximately 170 hadiths on prayer, ritual purity, military conduct, and prophetic supplication. He was particularly known for narrations describing the Prophet's prayer and its details, including the famous description of the Prophet carrying his granddaughter Umama during prayer. He settled in Kufa after the Prophet's death, though some accounts say he remained in Medina. He passed away around 54 AH.
