أحمد الونشريسي
Ahmad ibn Yahya al-Wansharisi (834-914H / 1430-1508 CE) was a Maliki scholar who fled from Tlemcen (Algeria) to Fez (Morocco) and became a leading figure of Moroccan scholarship. His monumental work al-Mi'yar al-Mu'rib wa al-Jami' al-Mughrib 'an Fatawi 'Ulama' Ifriqiyyah wa al-Andalus wa al-Maghrib, comprising 13 volumes, is the largest single collection of Maliki fatwas, gathering legal opinions from scholars of North Africa and al-Andalus across several centuries. It is an invaluable primary source for the social, legal, and economic history of the Maghreb.
