al-Baghawi

Abu Muhammad al-Husayn ibn Masud al-Baghawi al-Farra was a prominent Khorasan scholar known for his Tafsir Ma'alim al-Tanzil (Signposts of Revelation), a highly regarded Sunni tafsir that relies primarily on authentic narrations from the Prophet and companions. He also compiled Masabih al-Sunnah, an important hadith collection. He was known as 'Reviver of the Sunnah' and 'Pillar of Religion' for his efforts in combating innovations in his region.
