Abdullah ibn Ka'b was a Tabi'i narrator and scholar who appears in the chains of transmission of several hadiths in the major collections. He transmitted from Companions including Abu Umama al-Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him) and is mentioned in chains relating to Islamic conduct and daily practice. As a member of the Tabi'in generation, he occupied the crucial role of preserving and relaying prophetic knowledge from the Companion generation to later scholars. Scholars of rijal (narrator biography and criticism) have generally treated him as an acceptable narrator in the chains where he appears. His narrations touch on topics of daily Islamic life, ethics, and the Prophet's general guidance. Without additional biographical context linking him to a specific well-known figure of the same name, he represents one of the many reliable but less-documented Tabi'i transmitters whose collective contribution was essential to the preservation of the Sunnah. His reports appear in the Sahih collections.
