عمرة بنت عبد الرحمن
Amra bint Abd al-Rahman al-Ansariyya (25–98 AH) was one of the most respected female scholars of the Tabi'un generation. She was raised in the household of Aisha bint Abi Bakr and became her most important female student. Ibn Shihab al-Zuhri (the greatest hadith scholar of the Tabi'un) said about her: 'Amra is a vast ocean [of knowledge] that never dries up.' Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz specifically directed scholars to go to Amra to learn the hadith of Aisha. Her narrations form a major portion of the hadiths attributed to Aisha in the major hadith collections.
