Julaybib

Julaybib was a Companion of the Prophet ﷺ whose lineage was unknown and whose physical appearance was considered unappealing. The Prophet ﷺ personally arranged a marriage for him, insisting to a family who initially refused due to Julaybib's appearance. He participated in a military expedition and was found killed having slain seven enemies before dying. When the Prophet ﷺ found his body surrounded by the seven he had killed, he said: 'He killed seven and then was killed? This is of me and I am of him.' He was among the rare companions of unknown lineage whom the Prophet ﷺ gave special honors, showing Islam's rejection of lineage-based discrimination.
