حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ
عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ { كُنْتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ } قَالَ أَصْحَابُ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا مَعَهُ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ

English Translation
Yahya ibn Adam narrated to us, Isra'il narrated to us, from Simak, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas رضي الله عنهما regarding His saying: 'You are the best nation produced for mankind' [3:110], he said: 'They are the Companions of Muhammad ﷺ who were selected for this ummah. They are the best of it, and they are the ones Allah chose for the companionship of His Prophet ﷺ.'
