حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ سُلَيْمَانَ الشَّيْبَانِيَّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الشَّعْبِيَّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي مَنْ مَرَّ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ

صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى قَبْرٍ مَنْبُوذٍ فَأَمَّهُمْ وَصَفُّوا خَلْفَهُ فَقُلْتُ يَا أَبَا عَمْرٍو مَنْ حَدَّثَكَ قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ

English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) — via al-Sha'bi — that [al-Sha'bi] said: 'Someone who had walked with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ told me: [We were] passing by an isolated grave when [the Prophet ﷺ] led them [in prayer] and they lined up behind him.' [Sa'id ibn Jubayr asked:] 'O Abu 'Amr, who told you this?' He said: 'Ibn 'Abbas.'
