English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) — via 'Ata' — that Maymunah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ and maternal aunt of Ibn 'Abbas, passed away. He said: 'I went with him [Ibn 'Abbas] to Sarif. He praised Allah and extolled Him, then said: 'Mother of the Believers — do not jolt or shake her; be gentle. the Prophet ﷺ of Allah (ﷺ) had nine wives; he divided [time] among eight and did not divide [time] for the ninth' — meaning Safiyyah bint Huyayy. 'Ata' said: 'She [Safiyyah] was the last of them to die — she died in Madinah.'
