English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Hushaym, from al-'Awwam, from Jabala ibn Suhaym, from Mu'thir ibn 'Afaza — from the Prophet ﷺ that he said: 'On the night I was taken by night [Isra'], I met Ibrahim, Musa, and 'Isa (عليهم السلام). They discussed the matter of the Hour among themselves and referred the matter to Ibrahim, who said: I have no knowledge of it. They referred the matter to Musa, who said: I have no knowledge of it. They referred the matter to 'Isa, who said: As for its exact time, no one knows it except Allah. But as for what my Lord (عز وجل) has entrusted to me: the Dajjal will emerge — and with me will be two staffs. When he sees me, he will melt as lead melts. Allah will destroy him — until even the stone and the tree will say: O Muslim, there is a disbeliever beneath me, come and kill him. Allah will destroy them all. Then people will return to their lands and homes. At that point, Gog and Magog [Ya'juj and Ma'juj] will emerge, rushing down from every height. They will overrun the lands — they will not come upon anything without destroying it, and will not pass by any water without drinking it. The people will then return to me and complain about them. I will supplicate Allah against them, and Allah will destroy them and cause them to die — until the earth reeks from the stench of their putrefying bodies. Allah (عز وجل) will then send rain that sweeps their bodies away and casts them into the sea.' [The narrator's father said: 'Something escaped me here that I did not understand.' Yazid ibn Harun said: 'Then the mountains will be leveled and the earth spread like a hide.'] He then returned to Hushaym's narration: 'And what my Lord (عز وجل) has entrusted to me is that when all this occurs, the Hour will be like a pregnant woman in her final term — her family does not know when she will suddenly deliver upon them, by night or by day.'
