English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via the same chains — that he said: 'And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Allah is more delighted at the repentance of one of you than a man who set out in a desolate, deadly land with his mount carrying his provision, food, drink, and all that he needs — he lost it and went in search of it until, when death was about to overtake him, he said: I will return to the place where I lost it and die there. He returned, sleep overcame him, and when he woke up, his mount was at his head carrying his provision, food, drink, and all that he needs.' Abu Mu'awiya noted: They both [chains] said: ''Abdullah narrated to us two hadiths — one from himself and the other from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.'
