حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُطَرِّفٍ حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّ عَبْدَ ال
لَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ أَتَى ابْنَ مُطِيعٍ فَقَالَ اطْرَحُوا لِأَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وِسَادَةً فَقَالَ مَا جِئْتُ لِأَجْلِسَ عِنْدَكَ وَلَكِنْ جِئْتُ أُخْبِرُكَ مَا سَمِعْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ مَنْ نَزَعَ يَدًا مِنْ طَاعَةٍ أَوْ فَارَقَ الْجَمَاعَةَ مَاتَ مِيتَةَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ
Isnad Chain
English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via 'Ali ibn 'Ayyash, from Muhammad ibn Mutarrif, from Zayd ibn Aslam — that 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar went to Ibn Muti' ['Abd Allah ibn Muti'], who said: 'Place a cushion for Abu 'Abd al-Rahman.' He said: 'I did not come to sit with you — rather, I came to inform you of what I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I heard him say: "Whoever withdraws his hand from obedience [to the legitimate ruler] or parts from the community will die a death of Jahiliyya."'
