English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Rimtha (رضي الله عنه) — via 'Abdullah [ibn Ahmad], from Shayban ibn Abi Shayba, from Yazid ibn Ibrahim al-Tustari, from Sadaqa ibn Abi 'Imran, from a man who is Thabit ibn Munqidh — from Abu Rimtha, who said: 'I and my father set out toward the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When we were somewhere along the road, we met him. My father said to me: "My son, this is the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." I had thought the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would be unlike people — but there was a man with a wafra on which there were traces of henna, wearing two green cloaks. It is as though I can see his legs to this day. the Prophet ﷺ said to my father: "Who is this with you?" He said: "This — by Allah — is my son." the Messenger of Allah ﷺ laughed at my father's oath about me. Then he said: "True — indeed you shall not be held accountable for him, nor shall he for you." And he recited: {No soul shall bear the burden of another} [35:18].'
